Tweeting Tredinnick’s testimonies

A compendium of (the unedited version of) recently tweeted quotes of David Tredinnick, MP for Bosworth, with links to sources (and correction of one or two date typos, which are of the source, not necessarily of the quote). Tredinnick has held Bosworth in Leicestershire since 1987. If re-elected next Thursday (May 7th), he is likely to inadvertently continue wasting parliamentary time and advocating waste of public money, as indicated by these utterances:

‘… in Africa by homeopaths who have been trained at the hospitals that I have mentioned. Those results are especially instructive, as the homeopaths involved are treating patients with AIDS, HIV or other serious diseases such as malaria, in countries where the problems are very great.’

David Tredinnick, 19/2/08

‘Astrology is a useful diagnostic tool enabling us to see strengths and weaknesses via the birth chart.’

David Tredinnick, 4/3/15

‘… in many cultures, especially in the Indian sub-continent, Hong Kong and China, astrology and healthcare are linked, and that many people around the world believe that by having an understanding of your body from an astrological point of view that it can assist you in helping with personal health decision-making.’

David Tredinnick, 4/3/15

‘The fact that my interests are less mainstream means that they get reported more and used negatively by my opponents.’

David Tredinnick, 4/3/15

‘… at certain phases of the moon there are more accidents. Surgeons will not operate because blood clotting is not effective and the police have to put more people on the street.’

David Tredinnick 14/10/09

‘…there is clear evidence that homeopathy is effective in treating autism…’

David Tredinnick, 13/1/15

‘… we must move away from this insistence on evidence-based medicine…’

David Tredinnick, 21/11/14

‘Herbal medicine is not quackery – it has been used for thousands of years in China.’

David Tredinnick, 1/4/14

‘If we’re going to use herbal medicine, we have to look at it as it is usually used.’

David Tredinnick, 12/3/14

‘… greater use of herbal medicine and acupuncture as a way of reducing the need for antibiotics?’

David Tredinnick, 26/2/14

‘… we should be looking at… some of the other options that are currently available, perhaps not tested as much as other drugs, such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and possibly homeopathic medicine, which is used widely outside this country?’

David Tredinnick, 8/1/14

“The few people who criticise homeopathy tend to be ignorant bullies… And… they’re against it for their own vested interests.”

David Tredinnick, 18/12/14

“Acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, all have a part to play in the health service.”

David Tredinnick, 18/12/14

‘People who oppose what I say are usually bullies who have never studied astrology.’

David Tredinnick, 1/15

‘I do foresee that one day astrology will have a role to play in healthcare.’

David Tredinnick, 1/15

‘The opposition [to astrology] is based on… superstition, ignorance and prejudice… scientists… are also ignorant, because they never study the subject… and they are deeply prejudiced, and racially prejudiced too, which is troubling.’

David Tredinnick, 14/10/09
